Canvey Walk

16 March, 2017 Julie Kendall Leave a Comment

A walk along the sea wall is the best thing ever
It really don’t matter much about the weather
To view the creek, assorted birds flying around
Sun shining on the water, quietness all around

Seeing Hadleigh Castle and woods stretched afar
It makes me think how lucky at Canvey we are
The yacht club with boats scattered by the tide
A lovely sight and overhead the seagulls glide

There’s the Green café to stop by and rest awhile
Friends having lunch together, greeted with a smile
When walking up to The Point a nice scene unfolds
Southend pier in the distance and open sea beholds

As you turn the corner on your walk you will see
Murals brightly painted, people admire with glee
The jetty a bit further along, then the old seawall
People walking their dogs, throwing them a ball

To the café by the sea with ice-cream and chips
Children play on the beach and some go for a dip
Lovely happy times watching waves splash free
Canvey Island is the place I always want to be.
