Fear Don’t be Frightened

16 March, 2017 Deborah Haynes Leave a Comment

Fear what is it? What does it mean?
People have limits their extreme.
Fear of being harmed at the top of the list
Fear needed to protect us, danger missed.

Fear is more often than not misunderstood
Fear, for flight or fight can be for our good
We need fear to stay safe from harm
Aware of what is around us, without alarm

Mostly though our fears have no gumption
Most of our fears are made from assumption
Think of it now if you can, with clarity
Most of our fears come from insanity

The word insanity is used because you see
We only live in one moment, to a degree
We cannot predict what the future will hold
So therefore, don’t be scared, be bold

Fearful, Scared, Anxious, all negative words
If you look at it carefully, it’s not that absurd
Is it anxiety? Or excitement? You choose
What do you really feel? Take different views

You cannot fear anything that you don’t know
It’s a fear of nothing, enjoy, go with the flow
Most of our fears are very much unfounded
You must know this, try to stay grounded

Grounded in the truth of it all, don’t be scared
It may never happen, this “nothing” you feared
Until the scary thing happens, until it is near
Don’t suffer or contemplate fear
