Tudor Rose

16 March, 2017 Nick Phillips Leave a Comment

Flowers’ sworn to fickle
the sickle
deems that tickle
so why does the plough cough?
At late eighteen hundred’s dough…?

Political strife worn by
Grammatical scorn and pawn!
Ill-fated man of about town
fill my belated frown
when all is on the lawn

Radium of the govern
Coven if you are able to re-open
as but radical because fantastical
is the makeshift sewn
out of a time begotten

Opium, said the manager
will awaken a stranger
in a stranger land
to wonders for all too slightly clad
in clothe bedraggled

‘Embalmed’ replied a woman
for all too wisely
‘or a Sceptre Isle
‘can taste the blossoming of a flower,
‘in all cases so powering
‘that it just remains the same’ flowering of a rose –
Power flower
